Description:

In 2020, the City of Boston published Coastal Resilience Solutions for Downtown and North End. The study identified current and near-term flood pathways affecting these neighborhoods and proposed a set of comprehensive district-level strategies to protect them from coastal flooding and sea-level rise.

Building on this important work, the BPDA has launched the Long Wharf Coastal Flood Resilience Planning & Feasibility study. The project aims to develop feasible and implementable stakeholder supported alternative solutions for Long Wharf that protect against current and future coastal flooding and sea-level rise at the asset and district-wide scale. It will refine and advance the coastal protection options developed through Climate Ready Downtown and North End.

This community workshop will introduce the project goals, timeline, and context; seek community feedback on the risks and vulnerabilities that were identified in the project area; and present considerations that inform conceptual design options and early design ideas.

Language Access services will be available for this meeting, including Spanish, Mandarin, and Cantonese. If you require additional language services, please contact ksenia.acquaviva2@boston.gov no later than Thursday, January 25, 2024.
