Life Science Building Design Guidelines

The life science industry is a key driver in Boston’s vibrant economy and employment opportunities and provides critical funding for affordable housing, jobs programs, schools, and other public services. The Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) is creating design guidelines for life science buildings that can help shape the impact of life sciences and ensure new development advances citywide goals and contributes to and fits within Boston’s urban fabric. As Boston continues its leadership as a global center for life sciences, these design guidelines form one part of the larger BPDA Life Sciences Action Agenda to support thoughtful, context-sensitive, and flexible growth of the life science industry.

Please join the BPDA in reviewing the draft Life Science Building Design Guidelines on February 28, 2023 and March 14, 2023.

We are seeking general input from the public through this web page and through the public meetings. Please submit comments by March 31, 2023.
