Communications Mission

The Communications department facilitates the sharing of agency information by responding to press requests, promoting agency work, and developing marketing materials. The department maintains the @BostonPlans Twitter account and the Boston Planning & Development Agency News & Updates, to which constituents can subscribe to stay informed about planning and economic development in Boston. By providing up to date information to the community, we can better work together to shape our city.

Role at the Agency

The Communications department liaises with BPDA staff to ensure that accurate information about economic development, planning, and census data in Boston is shared with the press. In addition the department is charged with messaging agency policy to the press and designating the appropriate agency spokesperson for BPDA related initiatives.

Organization

The Communications department responds to local, national, and international press requests by providing up to date information on planning, economic development, and census data for Boston.
