Project Description

Orchard Gardens is a HOPE VI redevelopment of the BHA’s Orchard Park public housing site. The project was completed as two distinct entities—Madison Trinity and Adams Orchard from 1996 to 2000. The community currently consists of 331 residential units spread across 40 buildings. Of the 331 units, 282 are public housing that will convert to a RAD/Section 18 blend. The project will streamline ownership under a single entity, simplifying operations and costs. MPDC and TF will continue joint ownership of the property; BHA will remain involved through a ground lease. The development team has worked hard to craft a project plan that prioritizes resident well-being, environmental sustainability, and community engagement.
