Urban Agriculture Update

The BRA has just wrapped up 11 community meetings in neighborhoods all over the City presenting draft Article 89, the proposed new zoning language for facilitating urban agriculture on a citywide basis. Draft Article 89 was created over a 17-month process with the Mayor’s Urban Agriculture Working Group and members of the public. Staff received many useful ideas from the latest round of neighborhood meetings, and will apply them to the final draft version of Article 89 where applicable. The Working Group will reconvene on September 5, 2013 to review final draft Article 89 before going to the BRA Board in October and the Boston Zoning Commission in November.
