Originally approved in 2012 and subsequently extended in 2022 and 2024, NEC’s current IMP term is scheduled to expire in September 2026. This requested two-year interim extension will maintain regulatory continuity while NEC continues to translate its institutional strategic framework into campus master planning initiatives. Specifically, this extension provides NEC the necessary window to evaluate future programmatic opportunities for the 33 Gainsborough Street parcel before formally incorporating them into the subsequent 10-year Institutional Master Plan. NEC confirms that it is proposing no new institutional capital projects, no changes to its physical campus boundary or zoning dimensions, and no property acquisitions during this extension period. Following this two-year term, NEC intends to initiate and submit a new, 10-year Institutional Master Plan for BPDA review.
