Fid Kennedy Realignment construction project proposes realignment of the section of the Fid Kennedy Avenue between the Northeast corner of the V1 lot and the Northern Avenue Intersection. The realignment design provides significant improvements to safety and functionality of this segment by incorporation of two way unimpeded truck traffic (WB-67), pedestrian sidewalks on both sides, along with improvements to pedestrian crossings, landscaped sections, and safe parking opportunities for Raymond L. Flynn Marine Park (“RLFMP”) tenant businesses and their customers. The project also considered the future possible signalization improvements to the Northern Avenue Intersection that is currently in concept design. Throughout the design process the RLFMP Tenants Association and Massport were invited to be part of the process by open houses held with the designer and structured feedback opportunities that shaped the final design in the construction documents.
