Mayor Menino Announces: New Plans for North Jetty of Marine Industrial Park

Aug 09, 2012

The BRA Board unanimously approved a change in plans for the nearly 30-acre North Jetty area of the Boston Marine Industrial Park (BMIP). The 459,917 SF project will create a multi-tenant terminal and space for the expansion of the Pacific America Fish Company. The project was previously approved in 2007 to create a multi-tenant terminal integrating seafood processors, cold storage facilities, warehouse distribution facilities, and bulk cargo operations, including an import/export cement operation.  The minor changes will reduce total square footage by 50,635 SF and allow for aggregate-based construction materials.  Construction is anticipated to commence in the 3rd quarter of 2012. The development team consists of Marine Terminal Development, DLA Piper, Epsilon Associates, TranSystems, O'Connor Gordon Pratt Architects, Cambridge Systematics, and PB Americas.   Photo Courtesy of the U.S. Navy.  Flight Demonstration Squadron [the Blue Angels] flies over the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) and USS Constitution during the Constitution's annual turn-around cruise on July 4th as part of Boston Navy Week 2012. This celebration is one of 15 signature events planned across America in 2012. The eight-day event commemorated the Bicentennial of the War of 1812, hosting service members from the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and coalition ships from around the world.
