New Website to Serve as Gateway to Boston's Waterfront
Apr 11, 2012
This week Mayor Menino was on hand to launch
Bostonsnewwaterfront.com
an online directory of all of the amenities available on the South Boston Waterfront. A mobile phone app is also available on iPhone and Android platforms and will make information accessible to anyone on the go.
“This exciting website will show off all the great things happening on our waterfront to a new batch of customers,” said Mayor Thomas M. Menino. “It will help small businesses like the florist shops and art galleries as well as help showcase our latest gem of economic development, the 191-acre Marine Industrial Park," said Mayor Menino.
The comprehensive website lists retail, restaurant, cultural sites, open space, and housing, both existing and future. It will provide a helpful portal for new visitors to the area, as well as new exposure for all of the growing neighborhood's attractions. The new website is the definitive source for where to go, what to do, how to get here, who’s who, and more on the South Boston Waterfront.
The site is a community based collaborative initiative between a number of local businesses and organizations including Boston Private Bank & Trust, The Fallon Company, Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA), Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), Seaport Companies, the Friends of Fort Point Channel, and the Seaport Transportation Management Association (TMA).
