Mayor Menino’s Plan to Boost Local Jobs and the Economy

On Monday, September 5, Mayor Menino announced the City of Boston’s 10 point plan to boost local jobs and grow the local economy.  These strategies seek to promote job growth while continuing collaboration between City departments and external partners.  The points include creating a PILOT credit to hire unemployed workers, utilizing the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act model to maximize jobs, using the New Business Hub tool, creating a small business incubator, and more. Mayor Menino highlighted the newest businesses to join the thriving Waterfront area and prospering neighborhood business districts as examples of how the City can work with neighborhoods, small businesses, and the private sector to stimulate growth, and emphasized the importance of collaboration in their success.
