Mass General Hospital Files Small Project Review Application for New Museum & History Center

MGH filed a small project review application for a its new Museum & History Center. The proposed project includes a new, two-story building with a rooftop garden fronting Cambridge Street. The Museum building will include approximately 8,000 square feet and will create a welcoming gateway for patients and the public, and will help screen the Fruit Street Garage. The proposed glass facade at the corner of Cambridge and North Grove Street allows a transparent view from Cambridge Street into the lobby. The first and second floors of the Museum are dedicated for museum exhibition space. This space will be designed to allow occassional lectures, seminars and receptions.

The public comment period runs through April 6, 2010.
