Description:
The Boston Planning Department is hosting an in-person Public Meeting for the proposed Gillette Redevelopment Planned Development Area Master Plan located in the South Boston neighborhood. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the PDA Master Plan (80C) that was filed and its potential impacts. The meeting will include a presentation followed by Q&A open to the public.
The following description was provided by the Proponent:
Gillette, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Procter & Gamble Company, proposes the redevelopment of an area generally known as Gillette's South Boston Manufacturing Center (the "SBMC"). The Project involves planning the future of Gillette's existing campus at the SBMC, which is an approximately 31-acre site. It is anticipated that the Project will be built out in phases. It is further anticipated that the Project will support the transition from a site located in a Manufacturing Zone where allowed uses are primarily commercial and industrial uses to a site zoned to also include residential uses as allowed uses. It is further anticipated that redevelopment of the Project Site will include a combination of contiguous, usable green open spaces linked to adjacent public realm improvements.
