Alessandro “San” Bellino, originally of Australia, is Boston, and specifically, Dewey Square’s resident bike-driven coffee kiosk owner and operator.

Begun in January of 2013, The Coffee Trike is a prime example of how a young, ambitious person with a strange idea can become a young, ambitious person with a super-freaking-cool idea AND a profitable business.

Designed with eco-friendly intent, The Coffee Trike is a conglomeration of delicious coffee beverages, green practices, and convenience that’s become popular with local java lovers. From the ingredients used in making the drinks to the containers they’re served in, most everything about The Coffee Trike is eco-friendly.

While here at ONEin3 we love to be sustainable, the reason we’re particularly fascinated with this three-wheeled start-up is because San is, in fact, a ONEin3er. At only 28 years young, San has an impressive story and we’re happy to brag about it. San came to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music and as he put “loved it, and haven’t left.”  His love for Boston is our joy in a cup.

If it’s not obvious already San is a biking fan with a lot of previous barista experience (since 2003!) and has even competed in the United States Barista Championships (and it was actually the USBC that inspired his coffee business to begin with!). He’s also a musician and, did we mention, makes kick-butt coffee!

To learn more about San, check out his website or stop by his cart in Dewey Square (see here for hours/locations). Follow the Coffee Trike on Facebook and on Twitter @thecoffeetrike. About the author, ONEin3 Intern Mary Vidal
