Description
The Boston Planning and Development Agency (BPDA) has received an application for Design Review for a project at 8 Kirk Street in West Roxbury. While this project is not seeking zoning relief, it does require Design Review by the BPDA due to the requirements of the West Roxbury Neighborhood Design Overlay District (NDOD). This notice is pursuant to Article 56-27 and Article 80 Section E-5, requiring that the Agency notify the neighborhood council/neighborhood group and abutters of the application for BPDA Design Review.
The proposed project includes the renovation of the existing one-family dwelling, the removal of the rear deck, to be replaced with a two-story addition in the same footprint, a relocated driveway, and alterations to the front porch and stairs. The addition will provide added living space, a master bedroom suite, and a bonus room in the attic. It is located in a 1F-6000 zoning district in which all dimensional requirements are being met.
The BPDA Urban Design staff is reviewing the proposed project to insure that it is consistent with the architectural and historical character of many buildings within the Corey Street Neighborhood Design Overlay District.
