PLAN: Newmarket, The 21st Century Economy Initiative

PLAN Newmarket, The 21st Century Economy Initiative will look at the needs of an industrial neighborhood in the City of Boston. The Initiative will work closely with the community to develop a vision for the area that incorporates a strategy for job retention and growth. Identified by Imagine Boston 2030 as one of the expanded neighborhoods, focuses will include land use, jobs, climate resilience, transportation, and public realm.

Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) has postponed all in-person BPDA-held public meetings regarding Article 80 development projects and planning initiatives.

While public meetings for PLAN: Newmarket are currently on hold, the BPDA is beginning to explore digital engagement. Members of the PLAN: Newmarket team invite you to join us for a series of virtual chats hosted via Google Meet. As with all our Chat with a Planner sessions, no new content will be issued and no decisions will be made.

Once registered, participants will be provided a link to a Google Form. This Google Form will let us know who attended and enable staff to receive and catalog questions. Participants will receive a separate calendar invitation to the chat after registration is completed. If submitting questions in advance, questions are to be submitted via Google Form or contact information provided by June 3, 2020.

The pre-submission conference will be held on April 7, 2020.

All Respondents are invited to participate in a virtual pre-submission webcast on April 7, 2020, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Participation in the pre-submission conference webcast is not required, but is encouraged.

Participation in the pre-submission conference will require pre-registration by April 7, 2020, at 10:00 AM. Participants can register their participation in the pre-submission conference by visiting
