Latest Updates

On July 5, 2024, a draft of the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the redevelopment of Pier 5 in the Charlestown Navy Yard was released to the community. Staff would like to hear feedback from the community about these core components of the draft RFP from July 5, 2024 to July 19, 2024. If you have any questions, please email Natalie Deduck at [email protected].

The purpose of the RFP is to allow the development of open space, active and passive recreational uses, civic and cultural facilities, and water-dependent uses that enrich the community and create coastal resilience measures.

In accordance with the Charlestown Navy Yard Master Plan, the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) requested approval for the advertisement and issuance of a RFP to hire an engineering design consultant for Pier 5. The BPDA Board approved this request on October 13, 2022.
