Description:
St. Elizabeth's Medical Center straddles the border of two Boston neighborhoods, Allston and Brighton. Founded in 1868, St. Elizabeth's now has 524 beds, offers inpatient and outpatient care, and has research laboratories. The hospital offers community health outreach in the form of diabetes screenings and education, a farmers' market, and referral programs.
St. Elizabeth's Medical Center filed its most recent Institutional Master Plan in 2007, and amended the IMP in 2012. The Amendment called for a new emergency department, access road, three story addition to the garage, new infill building on Cambridge Street, and a helipad.
