You're Invited: Celebrate the Arts in Boston

Creative Conversations, a gathering of engaged citizens and arts leaders whose goal is to elevate the arts by designing programming and shaping arts advocacy, will be held in honor of National Arts & Humanities Month.  A consortium composed of Americans for the Arts, Boston Arts Marketing Alliance, Boston Cultural Council, and the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Tourism, and Special Events is hosting the event, and BRA Deputy Director of Community Planning, Randi Lathrop, will serve as a panelist.  The Mayor has for a long-time been committed to the promotion and marketing of the arts through the creation of galleries, weekly markets, holiday markets, fashion trucks, pop-up stores and more.

Last year, more than 1,800 people throughout the country participated in 52 locally hosted Creative Conversations.  Started in 2004 as a program of The Emerging Leaders Network, Americans for the Arts is now expanding the scope of the event to include all arts leaders and interested individuals.  Some of these local gatherings have grown into cohesive, organized leader networks.  They have been the catalyst for the development of community wide cultural plans and have helped to shape local arts advocacy by connecting the cultural sector with the business community and political leadership.
