The Boston Planning & Development Agency will host a virtual public meeting on April 9, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM to present a draft zoning text amendment for Downtown based on recommendations from the multiyear planning initiative, PLAN: Downtown. Zoning changes will focus on modernizing land use regulations to encourage new and diverse businesses Downtown and unlocking new housing opportunities by enabling more density in appropriate areas. The meeting will also give an overview of an upcoming Downtown Historic Character Study that will help inform preservation priorities and project review Downtown. The Downtown zoning changes will not include Chinatown which is undergoing a separate rezoning process.
