Description:

Please join the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) for a virtual info session to learn more about the new Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) and zoning updates to Article 25. These updates are required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in order for Boston to maintain its status as a National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) community. Being an NFIP community has many benefits, including the ability to access federal financial assistance after a flood.

BPDA staff will give an overview of the project’s scope and affected neighborhoods and discuss the benefits of purchasing flood insurance if your property or business is located in a flood zone. The presentation will be followed by an open discussion session to ask questions about the changes. All are welcome to join!

Interpretation will be provided in Spanish, Haitian Creole, Mandarin - Chinese, Vietnamese, Cantonese - Chinese, and Cape Verdean Creole. Additional interpreting services and document translation services are available upon request at no cost to you. Please request interpreting services no later than 5 days before the meeting date. For translation or interpreting services, contact [email protected].
