The BPDA is hosting a virtual Impact Advisory Group (IAG) Meeting meeting for the proposed Notice of Project Change (“NPC”) and Planned Development Area (“PDA”) filing for 135 Morrissey Boulevard, an existing project located in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an overview of the NPC and PDA and discuss the potential impacts and mitigation for the project. The meeting will include a presentation followed by questions and comments from the Public.

Please note that the purpose of this meeting is different from that of a traditional community meeting. As part of the development review process, IAG members work closely with BPDA staff to identify the impacts of a project and recommend appropriate community benefits to offset those impacts. IAG meetings prioritize discussion between the project proponent (i.e. the developer) and IAG members.

The proposed Project entails the construction of an additional 6-story wing connected to the existing Boston Globe building by an elevated pedestrian walkway, with associated below-grade parking. The Proposed Wing will include approximately 305,000 sf of office and lab space and will be constructed on an area of the Project site that is currently used for surface parking. Three levels of below-grade parking accommodating 417 vehicles will be constructed within the new wing’s footprint. No other changes to the existing building are proposed.
