Description:

The Boston Redevelopment Authority (“BRA”), d/b/a the Boston Planning & Development Agency ("BPDA"), hereby gives notice pursuant to Article 80, Section 80A-2 of the Boston Zoning Code (“Code”), that an Institutional Master Plan Notification Form (“IMPNF”)/Project Notification Form (“PNF”), filed pursuant to Section 80D-5 and Section 80B-5 of the Code, respectively, has been received from Massachusetts General Hospital (“MGH”). With the submission of its IMPNF/PNF, MGH is initiating Institutional Master Plan (“IMP”) review under Article 80D of the Code, as well as initiating review of the proposed Clinical Building and Campus Services Building (the “Proposed Projects”) under Article 80B, Large Project Review.

The Proposed Projects include the construction of a new Clinical Building that will include approximately 1,035,000 square feet of Gross Floor Area and a new Campus Services Building that will include approximately 81,000 square feet of Gross Floor Area. The Proposed Projects will be constructed on land within the MGH Main Campus in downtown Boston, and require the demolition of seven existing buildings. The Clinical Building will include approximately 456 beds, and result in approximately 203 net new beds following decommissioning of at least 253 existing beds in older facilities. The Clinical Building will have six below grade stories including approximately 1,100 parking spaces, representing an increase of approximately 349 net new parking spaces. The Campus Services Building will include office space, support space, and mechanical space that will support the Clinical Building and the MGH Main Campus.

The O’Keefe Auditorium is located on the 1st floor of the Blake building at MGH.

Enter the Fruit Street Main Entrance to the Hospital. Walk straight ahead and take a left before Coffee Central. Take your first right (at the big yellow column) toward the O’Keefe Auditorium. Follow the corridor to the left for the O’Keefe Auditorium.

The MGH Task Force will be meeting briefly in the Haber Conference Room at 5:30PM.
