Overview
The Project built off of the climate vulnerability analysis and resilient strategies developed through Climate Ready Boston Coastal Resilient Solutions for East Boston (2017) to analyze site conditions and develop implementable design options to protect the East Boston waterfront and community from future sea level rise and coastal storm events. The Climate Ready East Boston initiative provided a technical analysis of the timing and location of current and future flood events, and developed conceptual designs for resilience informed by East Boston stakeholders and residents. The Project further analyzed existing site conditions and advanced design solutions to address two near-term critical flood entry points around Carlton Wharf and Lewis Mall along East Boston’s Marginal Street.

The BPDA and the City of Boston virtually presented a Climate Ready history and introduction to the East Boston Resilient Waterfront project, followed by a discussion of existing conditions and design concepts, and public Q&A.
