Mayor Menino Exhibits E+ Green Building Responses

Aug 25, 2011

Please join us for an exhibition of responses to Mayor Menino’s E+ (Energy Positive) Green Building Demonstration Program, promoting  the next generation of ultra-efficient, deep green buildings.  The exhibition will be open from August 27 – September 25 at the McCormick Gallery at the Boston Architectural College, 320 Newbury St. in Boston. The Mayor’s E+ Green Building Program has challenged leading architects, builders, and developers to work together to design and construct high performance, green, urban homes and to demonstrate the feasibility of regenerative buildings in Boston.  Eleven teams submitted fourteen proposals in response to the BRA’s Request for Proposals (RFP) for E+ green residential buildings on three City of Boston land parcels in Roxbury and Jamaica Plain.  Stefan Behnisch, President of Behnisch Architekten, and Nadav Malin, President of BuildingGreen, have assisted the City in the selection of the winning development teams and honorable mentions.  The selected development teams will be announced at a public reception in the McCormick Gallery on September 14 at 6:00 p.m. "E+ Green Buildings produce more energy than they use on an annual basis, giving energy back to the grid and saving homeowners money." - Mayor Thomas M.
