Description
Often people limit discussions of diversity to issues of racial heterogeneity. This publication expands the concept of "diversity" to include income, age, language, educational attainment, and place of birth. We compared Boston in 2000 and 2010 to understand how diversity has shifted over the last 10 years in the city and its neighborhoods. Generally, we find that Boston is more diverse today than in 2000. However, there are pockets of the city that became more homogenous between 2000 and 2010.
