GIS Division Maps Featured in BPL Exhibit: City of Neighborhoods

On Saturday, March 22, the Norman B. Leventhal Map Center at the Boston Public Library opened its latest exhibit: City of Neighborhoods, The Changing Face of Boston. The exhibit tells the story of the changing neighborhoods and immigrant communities of Boston, using a combination of photographs, objects, historical maps, and recent demographic analysis maps.

The BRA's GIS Division was responsible for creating the majority of the contemporary maps, many of which were also featured in the BRA Research Division's recent report on minorities in Boston, Measuring Diversity in a Changing City. BRA maps featured in the exhibit include:

The Exhibit will be on display at the Copley Branch of the Boston Public Library until August 22, 2014.
