ONEin3 Spotlight: Rightside Shirts Spreads Promotes Youth Creativity

In 2012, Dylan Enright and Jeff White were seniors at Boston College when an art class and a TED talk inspired them to reject their job offers from high-profile financial services firms to create a nonprofit instead. With that, Rightside Shirts was born.

Rightside Shirts is a nonprofit t-shirt company that raises money for youth art education by showcasing children’s creative talents.  All of the shirts are designed by students in public elementary and middle schools and 100% of profits are donated back to the designers’ school to fund art programs.

Currently, Rightside Shirts works with 18 Boston Public Schools and has recently expanded to the San Francisco Public School System as well. They have printed 79 young artists and have raised over $4,000 for arts education programs.

For nonprofit entrepreneurs, Jeff advises: “Follow your dreams – no matter what – even if it’s not easy, because most likely it won’t be. Our generation is lucky to be living in the age that we’re living in because anyone can build a website and spread an idea through social media to build a foundation, especially in Boston.”
