Director Meade Speaks at Boston Public Library

Sep 08, 2011

This evening at the Boston Public Library, Director Peter Meade addressed a standing room only hall at the Boston Public Library.  Boston by Foot, Boston’s not-for-profit which hosts architectural walking tours, sponsored a panel to discuss Boston’s future for the next 35 years.  Bringing together an architect, novelist, professor of entrepreneurship, and Director Meade, the panelists presented their visions for Boston and discussed the most important aspects of Boston’s future. “Atlantic Wharf is the gateway to the new, new Boston” – Polly Flansburgh “I hope we continue to respect Boston’s past as expressed in our buildings…and recognize how important it is to have cultural life in the street....We need to find ways to replenish [that] activity in the city.” – Bill Martin “Cities are a place for intellectual capital to exist.  Boston has that capital and that will carry Boston into the future.” – Peter Meade Boston: The Next 35 Years
