ONEin3 Spotlight: Anthony Britt
Jul 10, 2014
26-year old ONEin3 Council Member Anthony Britt moved back to Boston after two years of teaching in Mississippi with Teach for America for Boston for a few reasons.
“I wanted to be close to family, to reconnect with a critical mass of progressive, educated young people across varied industries, and to explore what goes into cultivating a successful American city.”
Now an Impact Coach at City Year, Anthony provides instructional coaching and support for corps members across a portfolio of partner schools. This summer, he is focusing on building new systems to strengthen City Year’s literacy work and increase the program’s capacity for effective service in Boston Public Schools.
“My personal and professional mission is to break down the barriers blocking low-income children from unlocking unlimited potential and attaining high-outcome lives,” says Anthony. “I hope to contribute to building a more equitable world where all children have access to opportunities that allow them to prosper for the good of themselves and their communities.”
In addition to being a rock-star community member, Anthony enjoys to play basketball at the YMCA in his South End neighborhood and refuel with Dim Sum in Chinatown, or at the Chicken and Rice Guys SOWA food truck.
