ONEin3ers Share Ideas for Downtown Waterfront

May 23, 2013

More than 50 ONEin3ers (20-34 year olds) from across Boston gathered for the Downtown Boston Waterfront Design Charette. Led by Richard McGuinness, BRA Deputy Director of Waterfront Planning, the group toured the waterfront and learned little known facts about its history, as well as upcoming plans for its future.  How could the water be improved physically or with programming?  Are there opportunities to better connect open space areas?  How can water transit service and facilities be improved?  What about the waterfront is inviting in winter and during off seasons? These were all questions discussed at the ONEin3 Downtown Boston Waterfront Design Workshop led by Richard McGuinness, Deputy Director of Waterfront Planning, and Chris Busch, Senior Waterfront Planner.  The BRA planners gathered feedback from the young adults to gain insight into making the most of the public space with public amenities, increased accessibility, and destination programs.   [gallery ids="11025,11026"]
