Engaging Immigrant Entrepreneurs: Understanding & Overcoming Barriers, a panel discussion of the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, included a presentation by the BRA’s Director of Research, Alvaro Lima.  He focused on how the development of small businesses should be tailored to address specific characteristics, enablers, and barriers to growth that do not apply to larger companies. The panelists considered how best to support the economic growth of this fast-growing group, discussig the design of entrepreneurial programs for growing companies, as well as easy-to-implement, pragmatic, and customized assistance to help small businesses expand.  The event was held at the Chelsea Collaborative.
