Research Director Welcomes Brazilian President to Boston

Apr 10, 2012

Director of Research, Alvaro Lima, welcomed Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff and her delegation to Boston this week turning attention to the significant economic and social impact of the foreign born in Boston. As the largest foreign born population in the Commonwealth, Brazilians provide significant positive impact economically, socially, and culturally.  These impacts are highlighted in the BRA Research Division’s publication, “imagine all the people,”  a series that studies the population, employment and occupations, education, and spending of immigrants in Boston. The visit of President Rousseff was organized by Governor Deval Patrick to encourage collaboration between Massachusetts and Brazil, especially in the areas of business and education.
