Sharing the Work of the BRA

Feb 29, 2012

The BRA hosted visitors from Singapore, the Boston office of Jones Lang LaSalle, and the Mayor's Youth Council this week. Singapore's Nanyang Technological University sent sixty entrepreneurs to learn how the City of Boston encourages companies to make Boston their home.  They learned about the Mayor's vision for the Innovation District and heard about Boston's venture capital resources from the New England Venture Capital Association.  The entrepreneurs visited Innovation District companies GetfusedGinkgo BioWorksMassChallenge, and Space with a Souland toured Harvard Business School.  Join the entrepreneurs for an open networking reception on Friday, March 2nd at 4:00 pm at The Whiskey Priest in the Innovation District. When a group from Jones Lang LaSalle visited, the BRA showcased the model room, a pride and joy of the BRA.  Our model room IS a model of Boston.  Open to the public, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.  See the model of Boston on the 9th floor of City Hall. A former member of the Mayor's Youth Council, Erico Lopez, presently a project manager, explained the work of the BRA and its impact on Boston.  The presentation was inspired by a visit from BPS students as part of the Private Industry Council Job Shadow Day.  Erico connected the skills of a project manager to the skills BPS students practice every day.  Erico credits his time on the Mayor's Youth Council as his inspiration to stay involved in his community.
