Description: The City of Boston, the Convention Center, Massport, and MassDOT have joined together to develop a Sustainable Transportation Plan that supports the 21st century South Boston Waterfront area and defines and prioritizes transportation system investments needed over the next two decades. A great deal has changed in the area since the last comprehensive study was completed in 2000. The South Boston Waterfront Sustainable Transportation Plan is charged with developing a plan for the future that has the following goals: Improve access and mobility for all Support economic growth and vitality Reinforce sustainable policies and programs Enhance the public realm Contribute environmental and health benefits Invest smartly for the future Community participation is critical in developing a vision for the future.
