The Boston Zoning Commission typically meets on the first Wednesday (and third, when applicable) of each month to rule on proposed amendments to the Boston Zoning Code. The Commission also votes on Institutional Master Plans and Planned Development Areas in accordance with Article 80. Anyone may petition the Zoning Commission to adopt a zoning change. Following community engagement, Planning Department staff bring zoning change recommendations to the BPDA Board of Directors for approval and then petition the Zoning Commission. Once the Zoning Commission adopts a zoning amendment, it is sent to the Mayor for approval and then is codified in the Zoning Code.

Zoning Commission hearings are conducted virtually through Zoom. The public can participate in hearings by registering for and attending Zoom meetings and verbally offering public comment. The public can also send written comments by email to ZoningCommission@boston.gov or by post to 1 City Hall Square, 9th Floor, Boston, MA 02201

9:00 AM	Text Amendment Application Nos. 537-538 Groundwater Conservation Overlay District Article 32 Said amendments would remove the requirement for a conditional use permit for Substantial Rehabilitation projects, improve the legibility of GCOD regulations and applicability, as well as amend Article 2 (Definitions), Article 3 (Establishment of Zoning Districts), and Article 37 (Green Buildings and Net Zero Carbon) to ensure that changes within Article 32 are reflected throughout the Zoning Code.
9:15 AM	Text Amendment Application Nos. 539-542 Map Amendment Application No. 797 Skyline Zoning and Corresponding Amendments The text and map amendments create new Skyline Districts that implement zoning recommendations from PLAN: Downtown to modernize land uses, incentivize preservation and adaptive reuse, and enable more growth, housing, and businesses Downtown. Said corresponding text amendments throughout the Code also ensure that Article 31 and Article 8 are reflected consistently; said map amendments also amend zoning maps 1, 1A, 1C/1G/1N, and 1H to accurately reflect the new Skyline Districts zoning.
