This fall, Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) staff are launching Squares + Streets, a citywide planning initiative. Squares + Streets will focus on activity-rich neighborhood centers along main streets across Boston. We are looking to enhance small areas that are near transit and already provide essential goods and services for local residents, businesses, and visitors. Our goal is to develop high-impact, short-term recommendations for areas.

Staff will be available through September and October in neighborhoods across the city for informal, in-person conversations at “Chat with a Planner” events. We hope to have translators available at most pop-up events. We hope to hear from you on how we can best include you and your community in shaping the future of squares and streets. All our events will highlight the same information and provide identical opportunities to speak with BPDA staff directly.
