Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (MEEI) is located in the West End and Beacon Hill neighborhoods of Boston. The facility has 42 beds and treats patients with diseases related to the eye, ear, nose, throat, head, and neck. MEEI was founded in 1824, and is currently ranked among the nation's best hospitals for ophthalmology and otolaryngology. MEEI is an affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
MEEI filed its most recent Institutional Master Plan Notification Form in conjunction with Project Notification Form in 2011. The Institutional Master Plan is currently under review. The document included three projects for the Infirmary: a new 89,700 square foot research facility at 325 Cambridge Street, an annex to the John Jeffries House on Charles Street, and a renovation and expansion of the main clinical building at 243 Charles Street.
