New England Conservatory

Description:

New England Conservatory (NEC), established in 1867, is the oldest independent school of music in the United States. Located on Huntington Avenue, Boston's "Avenue of the Arts", the school has a student body of 750 undergraduate and graduate students and 1,400 Preparatory School and School of Continuing Education students.

NEC filed its most recent Institutional Master Plan in 2012. The approved plan includes a new student life and performance center with additional performance space, a library, and on-campus residences. The plan also calls for significant public realm and streetscape improvements.
