Located in the Fenway neighborhood, Boston Conservatory was founded in 1867 as a performing arts conservatory. Today the school enrolls 750 students and grants undergraduate and graduate degrees in music, dance, and musical theater. The campus occupies a number of Victorian row houses and historic buildings.

Boston Conservatory filed its most recent Institutional Master Plan in 2011. They amended the IMP in 2012 to build a 20,000 square foot building to house music, theater, and dance studios at 132 Ipswich Street, which was completed in 2014.
