Port Norfolk Home Assessment Office Hours

Join the City of Boston’s Planning Department and Office of Climate Resilience for virtual office hours for the Resilient Port Norfolk Pilot Project. These office hours are geared towards program participants, but open to the public. The City of Boston, through this pilot, is offering no-cost home assessments to assist Port Norfolk households in evaluating potential flood risk hazards and retrofit measures specific to their home. These assessments will be conducted by a professional engineering firm and will result in a brief report provided to each participating household. All Port Norfolk residents are encouraged to apply, though priority will be given to the buildings facing near-term risk (i.e. that fall within the boundary of a 1% chance annual flood scenario with 9” of Sea Level Rise in the 2030s). Both homeowners and renters are eligible to apply, but renters will need their landlord’s approval to move forward with an assessment. For more information, visit: bostonplans.org/planning-zoning/planning-initiatives/resilient-port-norfolk.
CANCELLED: Zoning Commission Hearing

	This meeting has been cancelled.

The Boston Zoning Commission typically meets on the first Wednesday (and third, when applicable) of each month to rule on proposed amendments to the Boston Zoning Code. The Commission also votes on Institutional Master Plans and Planned Development Areas in accordance with Article 80. Anyone may petition the Zoning Commission to adopt a zoning change. Following community engagement, Planning Department staff bring zoning change recommendations to the BPDA Board of Directors for approval and then petition the Zoning Commission. Once the Zoning Commission adopts a zoning amendment, it is sent to the Mayor for approval and then is codified in the Zoning Code.

Zoning Commission hearings are conducted virtually through Zoom. The public can participate in hearings by registering for and attending Zoom meetings and verbally offering public comment. The public can also send written comments by email to ZoningCommission@boston.gov or by post to 1 City Hall Square, 9th Floor, Boston, MA 02201

One State Street Public Meeting

This is a Planning Department sponsored Public Meeting to discuss the proposed project located at 1 State Street in the Downtown neighborhood of Boston. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the Small Project Review Application filed on March 26, 2026 and its potential impacts.

The following description has been provided by the proponent team:

The proponent seeks to renovate and convert approximately 64,428 gross square feet (“GSF”) of interior space within its existing 14-story commercial office building at the project site, by changing the legal use and occupancy from commercial office to residential multifamily housing of approximately 59,943 GSF on floors two (2) through fourteen (14) (the “Project”). The project includes an interior renovation and conversion only, with no expansion to the existing building’s footprint, GSF or exterior conditions. Its existing ground floor commercial uses will also remain in place. As part of the City’s Downtown Office to Residential Conversion Pilot Program (the “Pilot Program”), the Project will create up to seventy-five (75) rental housing units, with up to 17% designated as income-restricted in compliance with the Pilot Program.
