This will be a space to drop-in and talk with our staff about the Updates to Dimensional Definitions and Code Structure.

There are no formal presentations or planned agenda items at these office hours, so we ask that you review the information and materials available on our initiative page and come prepared with any questions that you have.

Office hours are held on a sign-up basis – if there are no sign-ups for an office hour session six (6) hours before the start of that session, then it will be canceled for the day.

POSTPONED: 84 Stonley Road Public Meeting

This meeting has been postponed to a later date. Notification of a new date will be sent out as soon as possible.

The Planning Department is hosting a virtual Public Meeting for the proposed 84 Stonley Road project located in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the Small Project Review Application (SPRA) that was filed and its potential impacts. The meeting will include a presentation followed by questions and comments from the Public.

The project proposes construction of a 5-story building with 28 rental units (5 of which will be affordable). The building will fill the lot along Stonley Road and Stedman Street, defining the existing street wall and creating a gateway between the two streets. The building is within walking distance of both MBTA Orange Line Forest Hills and Green Street stations, as well as MBTA bus routes along Washington Street. The project proposes no parking.

2062 Dorchester Avenue Public Meeting

The Boston Planning Department is hosting a virtual public meeting to discuss the proposed project at 2062 Dorchester Avenue in Dorchester.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the proposed project, its anticipated impacts as outlined in the April 24, 2025 Small Project Review Application, and recent project updates. The meeting will include a presentation by the developer followed by questions and comments from the public.

The proposal outlines the construction of a new four-and-a-half- (4.5) story residential building with approximately 19,595 gross square feet, comprising twenty (20) residential units, including studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. Additionally, the project will provide five off-street parking spaces, residential amenities, and enhancements to the site, landscaping, and both pedestrian and vehicular access.

Zoning Commission Hearing

The Boston Zoning Commission typically meets on the first Wednesday (and third, when applicable) of each month to rule on proposed amendments to the Boston Zoning Code. The Commission also votes on Institutional Master Plans and Planned Development Areas in accordance with Article 80. Anyone may petition the Zoning Commission to adopt a zoning change. Following community engagement, Planning Department staff bring zoning change recommendations to the BPDA Board of Directors for approval and then petition the Zoning Commission. Once the Zoning Commission adopts a zoning amendment, it is sent to the Mayor for approval and then is codified in the Zoning Code.

Zoning Commission hearings are conducted virtually through Zoom. The public can participate in hearings by registering for and attending Zoom meetings and verbally offering public comment. The public can also send written comments by email to ZoningCommission@boston.gov or by post to 1 City Hall Square, 9th Floor, Boston, MA 02201
