These proposed zoning districts will support the ongoing work of the Squares + Streets planning initiative and focus on active areas within neighborhood centers and along main streets. Staff will also present on proposed updates to the “Regulation of Uses” section of the Boston Zoning Code (Article 8) to better organize and modernize land uses for today’s needs.

The draft zoning amendment will be developed based on comments and feedback shared by stakeholders at previous public meetings and community office hours, as well as feedback from building and design professionals.
