This is a Planning Department sponsored joint Task Force and Public Meeting for the proposed amendment to the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science (MCPHS) Institutional Master Plan (IMP). The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the Article 80 submission that was filed on October 28, 2026.

The following project description was provided by the Development Team:
The proposed institutional project described in this Institutional Master Plan Notification Form (IMPNF) involves the renovation and conversion of space within the existing building with an address of 179R Longwood Avenue, also known as the Fennell-Iorio Building, from research laboratory space into residence hall space for use by MCPHS students. The renovation would convert portions of five floors (approximately 48,800 square feet of Gross Floor Area in total) of the existing building (which has a total Gross Floor Area of approximately 219,000 square feet) to accommodate approximately 225 student beds. The project will include the construction of student residential rooms, shared living amenities, and support spaces all within MCPHS’s 179 Longwood Avenue campus footprint.

The meeting will include a presentation followed by questions and comments from the Task Force and the public.
